Unit 7 covers vocabulary, grammar and functions and explains the process of exposing the students to new vocabulary and grammatical structure, helping them understand the meaning, help them understand how a sentence with particular vocabulary and grammar is constructed and then help them practice and produce sentences in both written and spoken form. Various methods using the engage, study, activate system were discussed. Boomerang and Patchwork methods were also reviewed.THis is subject is often one of the hardest for untrained teachers to teach. Most teachers lack the confidence and skill to know how to teach it. It's important for teachers to teach students stress and intonation when teaching. For example YES! Yes? and Yes, all have different pronunciation and different meanings. This subject was particularly hard for me, as I was completely unfamiliar with the phonetic alphabet. I'm sure I will have to keep reviewing this in the future.
