This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
I learned a great deal from this lesson. When you learn what sounds are made from what part of the mouth and how your throat feels when you say them, it makes it easier to help a student who has a speech disability with a particular sound. At first, the phonetic scripts are confusing, but after you learn them and what they mean, they make sense. It's very helpful to break the sounds down for your non-English speaking students and student's who have a speech disability. In this unit, I learned about the different type of equipments we can use in the classroom to make the lessons more effective and interesting for the students. This unit teaches us the importance, advantages, and disadvantegs when using each of the equipment mentioned. Also, I learned what to prepare first and what to look out for before using the equipment during the lesson. Lastly, I noted down all the different reccommended webistes, for learning, dictionaries, etc.
