I found the usages to be the most difficult section to learn and comprehend. It is easy to understand each form when a real-life sentence is used but the practice of the uses is something that I want to continually work on to be able to explain to the students. I like that there are simple and straightforward rules for each form and using the aux. verb in the forms reinforce the aux. verb. I found that helpful to tie in the previous unit. I was not confident before with everything other than the present simple, but now I feel like I have grasped the other three quite well.I have learnt that reading and listening are the receptive skills and speaking and writing are the productive skills, both pairs are equally important. There are different reasons as to why persons do each of them. When doing a lesson plan the teacher must try and understand what they students' interests are in order to spark their interest in the subject and better understand the language. What the teacher likes is not necessarily the same of the students and the most important thing is for the students to like the topic not the teacher if the teacher want full attention.
