This unit covered how to plan lessons to teach new language. Teaching new vocabulary, grammatical structures, and language functions each have slightly different ways that they are more effectively taught to students. Example lesson plans were given for each category of lesson, and the unit emphasized that the level of the students and the content of the lesson will determine which lesson structure will be most appropriate. Factors to consider when choosing which words or forms to study were given, along with what needs to be taught about the particular set of words or structures. Different Engage, Study, and Activate ideas were given for the different types of lessons that can be taught. In this unit, I learned the best way to plan different type of lessons, depending on the level of the students and the content of the lesson. This unit was helpful in determining the best ways to plan a lesson and things to consider when choosing what set of words to teach.
