I learned that there are a variety of ways to learn a language. For instance, whenever I want to learn a language I instantly look for videos and books (or even programs) to help me learn. But never did I think of the way I learned English: through natural language acquisition, which is through trial-and-error. I attempted to learn Thai and Korean through books, videos and music. I want to experiment with learning Mandarin by 100% full immersion. I want to do this by immersing myself in the culture by physically living in China. This will be a completely different approach than I usually take when I attempt to learn a language. I also applied a lot of what I learned from this unit to my piano lessons that I had today.
I included 3 new games: Seven's, Anagrams, and Hangman. All of my music students loved these games and it was a nice refreshing moment rather than our typical schedule. I now implement the \"Engage-Study-Activate\" method in my music teachings.
