Unit 8 covers the 7 types of future tense. It lists the usages for each type. It gives examples of typical student errors and it provides numerous teaching ideas for each type, accompanied by examples and suggestions. I find it amazing just how much we, as native speakers, take this area of grammar/language for granted. It is so complicated - from the perspective of non-native speakers - and consequently so valuable to have covered the basics in this chapter.Unit 12 was an overview of teaching productive skills, in particular speaking and writing. This unit was a good follow up and counterweight to the previous unit that covered teaching receptive skills. This unit gave numerous ideas and strategies to help teachers encourages students to be better speakers and writers. This is crucial because as productive skills, the teacher?s role is more focused on guiding and encouraging as opposed to spouting information.
