This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
Lesson planning is a crucial part of the learning process. It obliges the teacher to sit down, look at the language point of the lesson, decide what the objectives of the lesson are going to be and plan the ESA method stages. At the same time materials need to be decided on and collected, photocopies made etc. Planning a lesson is important for the teacher to have a guideline of \"where are you going\" with your instruction and to revisit after the lesson to check if the learning objectives have been met or not in order to fine-tune the next lesson. I think it is important for teachers not to write lesson plans for a full week in advance as one lesson can drastically change the course of the week if for instance something unexpected comes us ( the lesson can be cancelled for one or another reason, there is roadblock in the understanding of the material by the students etc. ) fine-tuning will be easier and more objectives directed if you plan a day at the time.
