This unit went over key roles that a teacher will play in the classroom. Each role has its advantages and uses, like being a manager and explaining key lesson content. It is very important to give good explanations, but it is also good to know that as a teacher sometimes it is best to step back and be an observer. Watching how student participate in peer groups will help assess individual progress as you walk around and allow for students to participate in a more relaxed setting. I found these simple but effective breakdowns very helpful. So I can manage and assess my own classroom behavior.
The unit also went over attributes of learners. This is very good, because to be a good teacher one should understand their student. When teaching it is important to keep in mind age, culture, motivation and life experiences. The unit also went over assessment levels from beginners to advance. This will help me assess my students and have a generally idea of progress stages.
