This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit went over some very specific but needed topics on the past tense. This was a particularly hard one because it was about things I had forgotten and easily confused the past simple, past continuous, past perfect and past perfect continuous. Simply spoken, the past simple is about what has been done and is completed, never to be done again. It uses -ed/-d to complete the past form of the verb. Interesting enough, you have a lot of irregular verbs that can be added to this form. On to past continuous, perfect and perfect continuous, they incorporate a more in depth approach to the past by using was/were (not) + -ing for past continuous, had/had not for past perfect and finally had/had not been + -ing for past perfect continuous. These three note how easily they can be confused with each other by one simple mistake. The simple sentences we had to detect the past part of speech made me choke up with overthinking and confusion because of the way it can be worded.
