The unit focused on teaching special groups and the different types of groups. It outlined the different methods and techniques used to teach beginners and the possible problems that may arise when teaching beginners. It proffered solutions that one may use to deal with the problems. The unit also highlighted the various activities that one may use when teaching children. Emphasis was also placed on teaching English for specific purpose or Business English. I learnt that as a teacher your approach in teaching may differ depending on the group of students. For example how one would teach children will be different from teaching a business class. When teaching children a teacher needs to incorporate a number of activities which are exciting and fun . On the other hand when teaching a business class a teacher needs to teach language that will be useful in their field of expertise or business environment. Hence teaching methods and approaches vary according to the group.
