I have never before considered teaching English in a few of these capacities. The idea of teaching a business class intimidates me, but I think it could be very rewarding. I have definitely thought about working with children before, and this unit reminded me that (even though they're ESL students) it's not much different from teaching any other elementary class. Students are high-energy and they are motivated by simple things like winning games or earning stickers. This is most likely not the case for beginner adult students, but there are some commonalities between the groups. In general, I think good teaching is good teaching no matter the age of the class. As for working one-on-one with an individual student, I appreciate the tips on activities. I also agree that homework for them (and other groups as well) is not always necessary. The idea of having them read an article before class instead is one I can see myself utilizing if I ever teach a student individually.
