The first unit contains information of the upcoming lessons, objectives of the course, typical employment in this field, and so on. One part of the first unit I learned about was the variation of salary based on the location of the occupation. Some countries have different “supply and demand†for English teachers where English is not the primary language of the country. China and India for example are more interested in English teachers because of the expanding globalized economy. On another note, I found the typical work week of 18-35 hours to be the standard for most full-time occupations in comparison to other occupations. In general, I look forward to someone of the other units, such as Unit 6 which highlights tips on resumes and Unit 5 to create fun songs or chants to help the young students learn the information. Overall, this first unit reviews the upcoming information through each lesson and how they are relevant to the course and career path as a whole.
