In this unit, I learned the do's and don't's of teaching a lesson. The first video was clearly the \"what not to do\" video. It was very uncomfortable to sit through. Throughout the video, I kept writing down all the issues I saw. Some of these included: the teacher didn't speak clearly, the teacher didn't explain directions in an understandable manner, and the teacher didn't answer a student's question until about 20 minutes after it was asked. In contrast, the second video was great! It depicted the same lesson, with the same class and the same teacher, as it should have been. In this video, I jotted down some of the following: the teacher was enthusiastic, the teacher addressed each student at the beginning of class, the teacher used gestures, and the students participated and enjoyed class because of the improved teacher. Overall, I really enjoyed this lesson. It was different from the rest and it showed a real-life example of how to teach students of other languages.
