In this unit, we covered the descriptions of a good teacher and the many roles a teacher plays and must learn to transition to at any given teaching moment. We also covered the descriptions of a good learner as well as the motivations and factors that can affect learning. Additionally, we covered the 6 different levels of mastery that there are. I was pleasantly surprised to see that at my family's school the levels followed the same pattern except we separated in levels called Beginners A and B, Intermediate A and B, and so forth.
This unit made me reflect on what I consider a good teacher and what would be most important to me as a teacher. I come from a tutoring background which I was pleased to see is one of the roles of a teacher. However, there are many more roles some of which are my strengths and others which I can improve on for when I teach in the future. This unit made me think about which level I would prefer to teach. I'm not sure that I have a preference yet.
