Unit 1 is about learners and teachers . In this unit i learnt that a good learner should ahve the willingness to listen to the language , a desire to experiment with the language ,a willingness to ask questions etc . Age , learning experience ,motivation ,nervousness ,language awareness ,behaviour problems , life experience ,culture and first language etc have a bearing on what we perceived to a good learner .I also learnt that language level is also very important and can be divded into , beginners ,elementary ,low.preintermediate,intermediate ,upper intermediate and advanced,.which clearly shows the distinction between the different levels of ability in English language and will help the teacher to know what to teach at the different levels .Finally , people have different reasons for attending English class , for instance ; for future career prospects ,for travel ,to improve grades at school/achieve success in exams ,to study or live in English speaing country etc etc .
