This unit covered the topic of teaching special groups such as beginners, children, business professionals and mono/multi-lingual students. All the info was pertinent, but I found the information on teaching business clients most intriguing. I feel that it would be difficult teaching this particular student population due to the differences in language levels, different background/ethnicities as well their various needs. One piece of advice I found helpful in teaching business ESL is to find out about their company and use authentic materials that each client uses/will use on a regular basis. This suggestion appears to be a hands-on and practical way of assisting them to learn English why using tools within their workplace. The other topic that was interesting was the comparison/contrasting of mono-lingual to multi-lingual learners. The approach to teaching both of these groups would have to be varied. Overall, this unit was informative and useful to future ESL classrooms.
