In Unit 6, I learned that a teacher's attitude can make a great impact on students. Their reaction, participation, and motivation were heightened in the second video simply because the teacher smiled, learned their names, and had a general positive outlook. Being organized and staying on task enabled the teacher to keep the flow of the lesson going strong and engaged the students throughout. I also learned that students seemed to respond better when they were paired up (specifically for the activities). Generally, attitude, a positive outlook, control, and command of the classroom, while still maintaining a good rapport with each individual student, enabled the teacher to have a fun, interesting, and ultimately educational experience. My main concern in lesson 2, however, is the misinformation provided about crocodiles and alligators. They are two different animals. An American alligator has a rounded snout and a crocodile has a pointed snout, among other differences.
