This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit is focused on present tenses: simple present, present continuous, present perfect and present perfect continuous. For each time different areas are covered: how to form affirmative and negative sentences, how to form questions, how and when it is appropriate to use a tense rather than another and what are the typical mistakes and errors that the students may make. Further, examples of activities that can be carried out during the Activation stage of a lesson are given, which is very useful for lesson planning. Besides the general rules for the formation of each tense, the sections about the usage of such tenses are very helpful, as they completely clarify when to use one tense over the other. In my opinion, the choice of tense is one of the most confusing task for students. The mistakes and error sections are also useful: knowing the more common mistakes results in a better lesson planning, where more examples and corrections explanations can be prepared in advance.
