These two videos clearly showed the difference between teach and student communication.
In video the teacher did not introduce himself and did not know or ask for the students names before beginning the lesson – this to me is a reflection of bad manners. There was no student to student group communication, no encouragement, no full explanations and the teacher talk time was too high. He came across as irritated with the class; impatient and at times bored. He intimidated the students by repeatedly saying this is so easy anyone can do it, which made the students feel embarrassed and /or afraid to participate verbally; the teacher’s attitude gave them no encouragement.
Video two was focused on student to student communication. Class feedback, Affirmative feedback, and the teacher talk time were minimal. The students showed interest and enjoyed the participation in this lesson and were encouraged to participate and acknowledged by their names, which is very important.
