This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
There are two main tenses in the English language. They are; past tense and present tense. This unit focused on present tense and four main types of present tense. Present tense is a tense expressing an action that is currently going on or habitually performed, or a state that currently or generally exists. The present simple, present continuous, present perfect and present perfect continuous are the four tenses in this unit. I've learnt that the present simple tense is used to indicate a habitual action, to express general truth, to express a future event that is part of a fixed timetable or to introduce a quotation. The present continuous tense is used for an action going on at the time of speaking. The present perfect tense is used to indicate activities that completed in the near past. While the present perfect continuous is used for an action which began at some time in the past and is still continuing. It is vital that any EFL teacher has a sound knowledge of these tenses.
