The Future Tenses Unit takes a detailed look at the different ways we can express things about the future. Unit 8 introduces the seven most common future tenses by breaking each down into their forms, usages, common mistakes, and useful teaching strategies. As the unit files through the future simple, future continuous, future perfect, future perfect continuous, going to future, present simple with future meaning, and present continuous with future meaning, the differences become easier to visualize. Similar to my experience with the past tenses unit, before completing Unit 8, I had not explicitly considered the different ways present tense occurs within English, as the performance of the tenses has become natural to me. The most interesting piece of information I learned was the future versions of the present simple and present continuous. While it seems obvious that these are discussing the future, it is less obvious that they qualify as present tenses, as well as future.
