This unit teaches about what it takes to be a good English teacher and what makes a good student, as well as the multiple roles of teachers and the factors that influence the students and their performance in class. It made me think more about the role of a teacher. I have learnt that a teachers`s role involves more than just standing in front of a classroom and lecturing. Instead of just lecturing, teachers are facilitators of learning, providing students with the information and tools they need to learn English. At times, they act like tutors, working with small groups of students or individual students. they also play the role of evaluators, assessing students` abilities, providing suggestions for improvement and grading students` performance. But I feel that the most important role of a teacher involves interacting with the students. The most valuable thing I have learnt is that teachers must care and show concern for their students more than for their own teaching process.
