This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit focused on three main ways teachers would evaluate their students: tutorials, student evaluations, and tests. It briefly explained how teachers could do either individual or group tutorials and how students can evaluate themselves with the guidance of their teachers. The unit then mainly focused on the different types of testing that exists. The types of testing that were listed, such as placement tests, diagnostic tests, and progress tests, are all ones that I have had experience with in the past during my own schooling. In truth, all students who have had at least some schooling already would have experience with some form of testing. However, I was not aware of the specific exams devoted to evaluating a student's English language level. The Cambridge exams, the TOEIC, and the IELTS are just some examples that were described in the unit. When teaching, I will have to keep in mind that my students may be participating in one of these exams at some point in their lives.
