This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit covered the parts of speech (nouns, adjectives, articles, verbs, adverbs, gerunds, pronouns, prepositions, and conjunctions) and, to an extent, how these different parts are used in a sentence. This unit was less concerned with the specific rules of use than identifying the different units in a sentence and the ways in which a sentence is constructed. There were also specific subcategories within each unit of speech, such as countable and uncountable nouns. This unit was a very helpful review. Although I know how to use these parts of speech intuitively, and from my own early education, I have forgotten many of the specific terminology, categories, and rules governing the use of each. For instance, I had entirely forgotten what a \"gerund\" was and had forgotten the specific distinction between conjunctions and prepositions. Each part to this section was a nice review and I plan on continuing to review and memorize the fundamental distinctions and rules within this unit.
