Unit 18 content is Modal auxiliary verbs, Passive voice, Phrasal verbs and Relative clauses.
Modal verbs are listed, along with their uses (obligation, possibility, degrees of formality, etc), sample sentences, and use of modal verbs with present, future and past tenses.
Passive voice is explained, with how to form passive voice in different tenses, and their usage.
Relative clauses are introduced, distinguishing defining and non-defining types.
Lastly, the three types of phrasal verbs are explained - Intransitive, Transitive separable, and Transitive inseparable.
As with previous grammar units, I have been learning many of the rules of grammar for the first time. I am pleased to note that this course's content covers the vast majority of grammatical issues that I might possibly face teaching EFL, and that four years of full time study of grammar is not necessary. I am pleased and impressed how this course presents the essential, basic English grammar in a condensed, accessible form.
