Teaching aids serve an important purpose in keeping students motivated in participating in lessons. Aids can help capture the attention of students, and help their understanding of material, because of the way it's presented. Based of the the different items, I would prefer to have less of a dependence on the computer or IWB, and just have a mixture of the other aids. I think that using visual aids, worksheets, the CD player, and resource sites would be more effective; this is because that while it might take longer to set multiple things up, I have more control over each part, and can more effectively teach a lesson. For example,if I were doing a lesson on plants; I might show a short video about plant life, from seed to full growth, then use a worksheet to strengthen the ideas, and finally have the class do presentations on how to grow a certain plant. The students presentations would need show to understanding of the plant cycle, and about how seasons affect plants when they grow.
