Unit 2 was a good grammar review for me. It has been many years since I learned about grammar. I realized that I have been doing 'grammar' on automatic for years. I found relief in the fact that most of the rules had remained in my brain. The danger, however, in not periodically reviewing grammar is the potential for doing something incorrectly and never catching it. I learned some new things and corrected some bad habits that had formed. I also realized what a monumental task my teachers had in teaching me English. I believe the best way to present English is to work on a gradient from simple to more complex forms and structures, provide lots of opportunities for practice through repetition, games, etc. and always ensure that the fundamentals are in place before moving on to more complex topics. Creative motivation is key for success in grammar! It would also be helpful for me to research and review some of the 'best practices' available on the subject of teaching English.
