These are the building blocks of good speech. In order to sound very fluent, a student must possess good grammar. It is absolutely essential to sounding natural. That being said, grammar even for native speakers is not always the greatest. It is something that people can be very lackadaisical with. Like most sections that have been in this unit, it is good to see things broken down because it allows for better instructing. When I see the errors that students typically make, I can almost imagine the student making them from experience with lower level English speakers. Learning the technicalities will help me to help my students. Listening to the grammar of English speakers without proper instruction could be very difficult for somebody to catch on to. A good example of this is \"may\" vs. \"can\" in asking somebody if you can have or do something. While in practice it makes sense, it could make it very difficult for somebody learning the language to distinguish the different meanings.
