This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit was so-so. It had great information about why to choose certain textbooks and the different materials. However if you are teaching ESL in a program like mine you probably won't be picking out the textbook. The textbook is already assigned to each grade level and the teachers picking them know the good and bad of them. They are also used year after year and of course differ from school to school. Though the textbooks may be different the lessons are similar in a lot of ways. Maybe not the exact same lesson, for example lesson 2 in one book may be lesson 1 in another and the vocabulary may be a little different. But they are similar enough. Onto other topics, this unit test shows me how confused I get about boomerang ESA lesson plans. The engage section I feel like I'm alright with, but when it comes to the study and activate sections I get somewhat confused on which is which, however I get more confused if it's the first or second part of that phase. I guess I need to review.
