This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This Unit was especially more complex, particular and dense as compared to the other units, which is both good and bad. A positive of the length, difficulty and complexity of this unit is the opportunity to put myself in my future students' shoes and feel how daunting it can be to follow these, largely arbitrary, rules of reflected and direct speech. On the other hand, I did not find this unit to be flawless, as I was able to point out various exceptions and overlapping of these general rules and thus felt that the single paragraph referencing the existence of viable exceptions was inadequate - and potentially misleading, for detailing the prevalence of viable exception to these rules. Nonetheless, as with every lesson thus far, I am grateful for the opportunity to review these fundamental concepts of English, and certainly learned something new. This Unit will both be a reference and headache for my future classrooms, but this is because of the subject matter and not the ITTT's work.
