This unit made it clear that while both speaking and writing influence how creative a student can be, there are many reasons why having a good understanding of both is important. For speaking, the most notable aspect that I learned involved the difference between accuracy and fluency. After reading over the unit, it seems to me that accuracy is being correct in your speaking, while fluency is being understandable both in pronunciation and content. While the unit did not explicitly say that fluency is more important, when first learning it is seems to me that it is. This is because it should be more important that one is understandable than for them to be speaking with 100% correct grammar. Even native speakers have issues with that. As for writing, after reading over the unit it seems to me that having games or fun activities would be the best way to learn proper forms of writing. This makes learning fun and allows the students to be more adventurous and more likely to continue trying.
