The difference between using authentic materials and Created materials: Authentic cannot be graded, however they can build the student confidence levels when they understand them.
The created material designed by the teacher encourages participation and imagination and use of vocabulary – also allows for introduction of new words for their vocabulary – word search, cross word puzzles, role playing, flash cards, picture stories and gap filled activities are fun and the students become involved and as these are done in groups it encourages free communication between the students in English/
Course books and Lessons, the unit highlights the need for the teacher to add to the Course books where necessary to cover the full lesson’s requirements specific to the students. My feeling as that the teacher needs to look at the course books and the lesson planned - analyse what the objective is and decide what needs to be added or shortened to ensure the lesson is student cantered
