Speaking and Writing are the productive skills. Reasons when people communicate with each other. They have purpose to communicate. They want to say something, listen to something and are interested in what is being said.Accuracy and Fluency are of equal importance. Speaking activities can be controlled, guided and become creative activities. Reasons that students are not keen to speak out in class can be lack of confidence and fear of making mistakes. Some helps can be placing students into pairs and changing desk arrangements.Before class make sure the lesson has aims outlined and materials prepared. Using interesting material to prepare the students before hand, encouraging questions with each other and the teacher. Providing feedback to make sure students are on track and showing them ways of coming back on track if they meander away. Using games can give the students skills in reading and writing. Helping them to overcome difficulties of handwriting, spelling, layout and punctuation.
