This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This lesson provided a great understanding of how to manage a classroom. I enjoyed especially how the use of gestures, eye contact, and your voice can help engage students and enhance their ability to learn. From my experience teaching I have learned how your physical gestures can assist in communicating while teaching, but also know that if not used properly they can negatively effect students. I really enjoyed the section on grouping students and how the different types of groupings can enhance or detract from a students ability to learn. I often had different groups forming in my classes, mostly out of their own choice, and I was able to witness how students worked together without instruction by me. I enjoyed watching students work together and viewing the instances where the more advanced students led those that struggled with the material. The information provided in this lesson has provided me with better insight about managing classrooms and will improve upon my previous experience.
