A brief overview of the content of Unit 14 is on the concept of Coursebooks and Lesson Materials that will be of use for the class and by the teacher. I learned of the two major categories of materials for the classroom, Authentic Materials and Created Materials, which differ in regards to reality, confidence, practicality, and grade leveling. There are very common uses of coursebooks, which include materials for the students, for planning your lessons in the future (e.g. syllabus), and supplemental material as well. There are many advantages to having coursebooks and lesson materials, but also many downsides which are typically relative to the teacher's own level of determination for exploration and motivation inside his/her classroom. The best employment of materials and coursebooks is for reception to what is inside, but skepticism as well. Keep an open mind but make adjustments when needed. You can use this in four different ways through omitting, replacement, supplement, or adaptation.
