From seating arrangements, maintaining discipline , giving instruction, to balancing TTT with STT, are all important components when managing a classroom. Establishing rapport is one of the most important factors when maintaining classroom in my opinion. The motivation and the ability of a team rests upon its leaders. A teacher must show interest and genuinely care for the well being of his or her students. If I have a small class I will probably use the hoarse shoe seating arrangement. I agree that it is a more intimate approach and gives everyone the chance to make eye contact, enhance feelings of belonging, and increases interaction. I also believe it is important to incorporate eye contact during the study stage of the class as well as use gestures. Allowing students to correct other students is a good method for building rapport in the classroom, but I also think that depending on certain personalities it maybe best to be the one to correct in order to avoid unnecessary competitiveness.
