Unit IX provided very important information on the formation and execution of lesson planning. In this unit it is made extremely clear that the process of conducting a lesson plan is inherently relative to the experience and particularities of the teacher, as flexibility is important but coherence and structure of the lesson foundational. As a teacher acquires more experience, their knowledge and comfort level in front of the class dramatically increases, allowing for adaptation and flexibility of each lesson. But regardless of the ability and experience of the teacher, having a lesson plan to reference before, during and after the lesson provides countless advantages (including an aid in planning, a working document and a record of lessons and self-evaluation of personal growth as a teacher). This unit also provided example lesson plans as well as self-evaluations, which gives a clear and general roadmap for lesson plans, diminishing the daunting process of cultivating a sequence of lessons.
