This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
The two videos showed bad and good students-teacher interaction. The first video showed an intimidating and unsmiling teacher. The teacher also started without knowing the names of his students. It could have helped him by asking their names and making the students more comfortable. The students were already afraid and confused. Confused with what the teacher was asking them. The teacher's accent didn't also help. He could have talked slowly or wrote what he was asking on the board. He could have explained what a 'modal auxiliary verb' means, because 'modal' and 'auxiliary' are words that sound too foreign for non-native speakers. It can be intimidating or can be perceived to be too difficult to understand. On the second video, it was apparent that the students warmed up and were more at ease. The teacher were able to get the students to participate freely. The teacher were able to get more answers from the students. The second class seemed to be more fun compared to the one in the first video.
