This unit is all about the tense system and how it's broken down into form, usage, typical student errors and the active stage teaching ideas. For the form I think that people would have a hard time with the affirmatives and the third person singular because they have to decide if something is plural or not and if it is, what type of plural form would you put it in like adding an s to it or not. The negative I think is a little easier because you're saying something doesn't do. As far as typical mistakes that are made, I think that it goes back to figuring out what is plural and where to add an s or if you even need to. With the present continuous you just add ing to an action. With the present perfect, this is where people make some mistakes because there is a tie between the past to present. I had no idea that students have a ton of difficulty with tenses. For me, they came really easy with other languages but I grew up speaking English and didn't have to learn it as a foreign language.
