This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
Past tense is a tense expressing an action that has happened or a state that previously existed. This unit focused on four types of past tense. They include; past simple, past continuous, past perfect and past perfect continuous. Past simple is usually formed by adding -d or -ed and used for actions completed at a definite time in the past. There are several irregular verbs. The past continuous is formed from the past tense of be with the -ing form of the verb. The past continuous describes actions or events in a time before now, which began in the past and is still going on at the time of speaking. Past perfect indicates that an action was completed at some point in the past before something else happened. Finally, the past perfect continuous indicates a continuous action that was completed at some point in the past. This tense is formed with the word \"had\" plus \"been\" plus the present participle of the verb ending with -ing. I've learnt that the past tenses are related to the past time periods.
