This lesson demonstrates that the teacher's skill level and attitude has a profound effect on the amount of learning that takes place in a classroom. In the first video almost zero learning was taking place completely related to the poor attitude and teaching skill of the teacher. The students were clearly attentive and eager to learn, but also completely unable to understand or benefit from the teaching.
In the second video the students were engaged, interested, and clearly learning because of the teacher's great attitude, engaging manner, and the use of the ESA method of teaching. Although there was room for improvement, the teacher's positive and encouraging attitude made a huge difference in the responses of the students and the amount of learning taking place.
It is clearly the responsibility of the teacher to make sure that the lesson is appropriate for the level of the students, to use proper teaching methods, and to be positive, encouraging, and keep the students interested and engaged.
