This unit was about evaluation and testing. This was a short unit covering the ways to assess a students language level: tutorials/evaluation by the students and tests.There were different kinds of testst and it is given at different stages.
1) Placement tests also progressive tests at the start of a course to place learners in group of level of proficiency/ability.2)Progress tests shows teacher weaknesses of the class. Schools normally requires them and it covers the work done.It is periodically balanced and covers all 4 skills.3)Diagnostic skills is in beginning /start of a course similar to placement tests but it is more extensive and tells you what the students know/don't know..4)Practice test should follow the style and structure as the real exam it wishes to prepare the learner.5)External proficiency tests. Here I learned a lot from the video. It placed all in perspective- General( five level Cambridge Assessment- KET/PET/FCE/CAE/CPE)Business(TOEIC/ BEC/BULATS)and finally Academic(TOEFL/IELTS)
