This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
I learned where the problem areas are for students thanks to the tips; for example, some of the problem areas for the students might be distinguishing the difference between the different kinds of pronouns, such as relative, possessive, personal, etc. I also never realized how some of the rules from making verb tenses carried over into making another verb tense. For example, when forming the past participle of the verb \"stop\" you add an extra 'p' before adding the suffix \"-ed\" (stopped) but you also add the extra 'p' before adding the present participle suffix \"-ing\" (stopping). This unit explained the four past tenses, simple, continuous, perfect and perfect continuous. These four tenses are very similar in use and structure to their present tense forms. This unit worked are a good refresher to information from unit 4 and reminded me how important it is to continue studying a unit even after you've passed it. I think the most important things I need to continue studying and memorizing are the basic tense structures and the usages for each tense. As long as I have a good working memory of both of those, I think I'll be able to tackle these tricky grammar units.
