During the time I spent studying this unit, I learnt that there are four things students need to do with new language; be exposed to it, understand it's meaning, understand how it's constructed and be able to practice and produce it. I also very much agree with how grammar is said to be the tree trunk and branches of a language while vocabulary and functions are the leaves that add beauty and variety, as I'm currently learning Italian and German in my spare time. When it comes to vocabulary, I too can definitely understand a lot more than I can speak in Italian.In this unitI haved learned that students do not have the ability to speak the English language as easy as when you have the available souroundings of English language assistance.It mentions the theories, methods and techniques which are available to help the students in learning the language. My technique to help in this area is to speak to them upon entering into class room environment is the English language.This unit explains about the best methology of ENGAGE-STUDY and ACTIVATE. My methology is English upon entering and as time goes about explain and teach.
