We learn our primary language (L1) through absorption and trial-and-error. This is impossible to replicate in the classroom, but established teaching methods for a second (or foreign) language (L2) seek to mirror this process as much as possible. which is the best method/technique for doing this is often debated, but most agree that students need as much exposure to the language as possible. the teacher ideally helps and guides the student discover language for themselves.Unit 7 teaches how to apply the engage, study and activation (ESA) method to teaching non-English speaking students. I learned examples of how to vocabulary, grammar and functions by the ESA method. I learned what was important in selecting vocabulary, what words to teach the student. Also, what is important to teach the student in regards to each word, ex. the meaning, use and pronunciation. And, the different techniques for teaching, breaking it down per category of ESA.
