It's important to know what types of resources are available. When hired at a school teachers don't normally get to pick what their schools will buy, so it's important to know what's out there and what we should be able to create on our own. It's also important to keep in mind while magazine articles are interesting and relevant they might not be at the right level for our students, so we'll have to do some more work to adapt them to better fit the needs of our students.The unit was a real challenge for me as I haven't used phonological terms since I graduated from university. That was an exciting throw-back to university time, I enjoyed it a lot. First of all, the unit starts with telling why pronunciation is important and how it can change the message.Then goes an overview of what phonology is and what areas it studies with further focusing on each area. What I found extremely helpful is the tips how to teach various phonological items.
