This unit covers the fundamentals of teaching aids and the materials and equipment available for teachers to use. It also mentioned the problems and that could arise when using a particular mode. It was rather interesting to read up on how important cassettes and recorders were so effective in the past and now how technology has changed that. One could use a smartphone for just about any thing. This unit was short and sweet concise and effectiveWow! What a challenge I faced here in this unit. The phonetic script made me spend more time while checking the phonemic symbols. I do agree that teaching pronunciation, phonology, linked speech, intonation, all about sounds meanwhile we are not even aware of these rules in our own mother tongue, so it can be a challenge to teach though. Everything is possible but. We, teachers should know more about the origins of sounds and words, should not we?
