A new language incorporates grammar, vocabulary and language function. An effective teacher knows how to structure a lesson around these elements appropriately. Each element in itself must follow a guideline. For example, the vocabulary taught must be appropriate to the students and the lesson. It must not be too simple nor too advanced. Similarly, the level of grammar taught depends on the level of the students and the nature of the lesson.This course has provided me with relevant, purposeful, creative and engaging information. The various units were pretty diversed and the content was concise and useful. The examples and sample materials used were creative in nature and not too difficult to implement within the TEFL classroom space.
Overall, I enjoyed completing this course and I anticipate that it will aid significantly with me as I carry out my duties as a TEFL instructor.
