Unit 10, is a great example of what to do and not to do in a classroom. It clearly shows how the attitude of a teacher affects the students. For me as a watcher it was very frustrating and wanted to stop watching the video because it seemed endless and even the anxiety of the students was being transmitted to me. The teacher was not only rude but he was uninterested in the students to the point that whole class was afraid to talk and were probably discouraged to learn English. Meanwhile, the second lesson was more animated and the environment was lighter that the students seemed to enjoy the class more and were more motivated to participate. Yet what I realized with the test questions and with the second video, is that I still have a bit of confusion differentiating an engage with an activate phase if it were to use a boomerang ESA planning because in both, the teacher is looking for more student talk time and when there is no previous study phase differentiating engage and activate can be confusing.
