This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
Unit 2 explained how each word in a sentence can be further classified, according to its purpose and the meaning it adds. I learned a lot about the \"formal\" rules when it comes to writing and speaking the English language. For example, being able to properly change the spelling for plural nouns, distinguishing when to use the indefinite or definite articles, and learning about the different types of adverbs and pronouns, just to name a few. Through this, however, I realized that a person trying to learn English for the first time, studies it in its most pure but meticulous form. When I was going though the chapter, I felt that the material was much more difficult than I had originally thought because I couldn't explain why something was the way it was; it just always was. Understanding some of the exceptions to rules that really didn't have any explanation came so natural to me, a native English speaker, but I can see how this will prove to be difficult to those who have to go out of their way to learn it.
